Sanju is getting spoiled

Since Sanju's bout of vomitting on 8 Feb, we've been feeding him either steamed fish/chicken, and when he got better, canned cat food (for variety and get him used to different food), because we thought that dry food would be a bit tough on his digestive system. So his love-affair with canned wet food began.

Sanju has a way of letting me know that he wants his wet food. If given a choice, he would want it in the morning after his wakes up, mid-morning, afternoon, mid-afternoon, dinnertime, and suppertime. He would make his demands known by following us to the kitchen and giving us his "I-demand-my-wet-food-now!" meowing, and even make himself a permanent fixture there. This happened a lot over the weekend, so much so that he had not touched his dry food at all. So it was time for some drastic measure. I have resorted to mixing some wet food with the dry food, to ensure he gets enough nutrition.

I have learnt on a cat website that cats do not have satiety in their vocabulary. I have learnt to ignore my two cats' pleas whenever I am in the kitchen. Never mind if my neighbours think I am torturing my cats a few times a day and night! We need to discipline ourselves to discipline their insatiable appetite.

What nice neighbours you have, vegancat. Actually, I wouldn't have minded fattening up Sanju a bit, but I know I should not create the bad snacking habit in him.
