Sanju's first days at home

Tue, 07 Feb 2006 09:04:12 +0800 - email to vegancat

It was a relief to me to find sanju well and fine, after his first day of "solitary confinement" in the 'cat room' yesterday while we were at work.

Something interesting happened. Upon reaching home, I cleaned up the poo (soft & firm) immediately, then fed him some wet food (he seems to be expecting some treat - by sticking to my legs forever!). After a while he went to poo in the litter box and passed out 2 small firm stools...ok, good sign...means he's been eating more.

I immediately clean up the litter box, and went back to kitchen to chop vegetables. Before I could finish, I heard a thud, and discovered sanju had toppled the rectangular waste paper basket.

The interesting thing was he'd poo-ed again, in the waste paper basket! (imagine him standing precariously on the rim of the tall basket and doing his imaginery burying. :) )

He doesn't cover his poo sometimes, and would stand on the rim of the litter box and do the imaginery scrapping...think he's scared of getting dirty. ;P

I think he's very fastidious, so will go get another litter box so that he can pee in one and poo in the other, if he prefers.

Oh yes, I'm sure Sanju will grow up to become a head-turner, and I'm not saying this because I'm the godma. ;)

He has a nice, soft coat with mostly down-hair on his paws and underside.I love to see him gallop with his confident long tail.

BTW, Sanju is quite humanlike in voice. He would make sounds like: Hmm, Uhm? Uhm-mm and other 2-syllable noises. Or he would let out a big breath and go Ghmmmm... (as if he's sighing), or his meowing would suddenly go higher-pitch (to protest that I closed the door on him...haha!).
