The first night with Jackie went peacefully. I?d left her in the cage while I slept in the same room, so that I could keep the door opened for ventilation. She was very ?guai? and would lie down in the cage whenever I lie down on the bed, but would get up excitedly for some stroking whenever I got up. She was quiet during the night, except for some chomping noise when she ate the dry food.
In the morning, I gave Jackie some canned tuna mixed with dry food, then let her have free roam of the room before we went out for breakfast. She was all right with being left alone, and had used the litter bin to pee again. After that, we opened the door of the cat room to let her have free roam of the flat.
Unlike previous foster cats who couldn?t wait to get out, Jackie prefers to stay within the cat room and is adapting to the strange noises created by neighbours and passer-by.
One peculiar thing about her is that she seems quite wary of uncle S, and would try to hide whenever he goes into the room, yet she is most affectionate with me, and have even napped beside me on the bed earlier this afternoon. Could it be some bad experience with men from her past? I hope that with time, she will be able to get over her trepidation.

She looks very contented in the last pic asthough she knows she is safe and sound.
My cat Akira used to run away when my little nephew came to the house.I think its because my nephew was too noisy with her and kept throwing a ball at her direction. My other cat Bujang likes this game though. So I think she hides from him because she thinks he would hurt her. I got her from the SPCA so I do not know what had happened to her before. I think cats always remember their experiences. Since my nephew has learnt to be gentle, she has come out of her shell quite well. :)
