Things are going well with Jackie, and I am pleasantly surprised at how loving she can be. Here, we have a completely strange cat that has been living in a block full of bullying humans and kids, and yet somehow manage to return the love and affection to an even stranger human. What really amazes me is that animals are so pure in the way they open up their hearts to love a complete stranger, like me.
Jackie allows me to carry her, scratch her tummy, and would sometimes lean on me as if I were a cat. One thing I like about her is her impeccable litter bin habits. Within the first 24 hours of her arrival, I have shifted the litter bin twice to different places, and each time, she knew where to find it, and use it with absolute ease. She is also meticulous about burying her waste, which is more than I can say for Sanju. ;) It is said that cats instinctively bury their waste so as to cover up their scents and trail to avoid being discovered by predators. Well, this cat sure has lots of that good old cat instincts in her!
Jackie is also a "knead-er". Yes, she does the kneading thing on me when she's (presumably) happy and purring away. So far, she's given me massages on my tummy, my thighs and my arms (ouch!), and she is a strong massuer. Last night, while cozying up with me in bed, she used so much force kneading my chest that I thought I was going to get the blue-blacks. Haha!
Yesterday was the first day that we'd left her in the "cat room" for long hours while we were at work. When I got back, she seemed elated to see me and kept following me like a dog. Thinking that she was asking for wet food, I gave her some fish dinner, yet she did not eat it. Only when I sat down with her did she finally decide to consume her food!
Generally, she is getting less fearful of uncle S, and now loves to explore the rest of the apartment, although I think she still prefers to do that when uncle S is unseen.

Jackie is so sweet. So nice of her to be so loving despite being bullied before. = )
Wahh so much kneading! Thank goodness Bujang only does that in the early hours of the morning and only on my stomach, although it hurts just as much as his nails sometimes catch on my skin. OUCH! My other cats do not knead at all. I was told that this was because I rescued Bujang when he was only 6 weeks and cats need their mothers until they're about 12 weeks to be weaned off. If they're not weaned, it could be a lifetime affaire for some cats :)
It looks like Jackie has really hit it off with you... here's to a great relationship and may she click as well with her future adopter! :)
I don't mind the kneading, and I'm glad that Jackie doesn't suckle, like Catdonna's Polly. :)
:) Talking about suckling...Bujang has this habit also. Kneading and suckling although the suckling does not happen so much now. I notice it happens only if I wear a certain tshirt. So now that I have given him the tshirt, he doesn't suckle. :)
Jackie sounds absolutely precious! I hope she goes to the loving family that she deserves. I would love to one day foster a cat who kneads. I sure could do with the massage after a hard day's work. ;)

Lucky you .. all my 5 are either scratchers or biters .. have yet to have a kneader ... can we trade for a day? :)
Heh! Cat, you're welcome to borrow Jackie, but does she need to wear an armour jacket in your house of chaos? Hee hee...
I MISS SANJU!

Sanju's doing very well isn't he? King of his own little hill. That's great. :)
Jackie still amazes me with how exceptionally friendly she is.
Sanju is the precious king at his home now, and will be getting another kitty playmate soon.
Catdonna, I'm amazed too. :) Jackie has taken to lounging under our bed and watch our legs (and feet) go by.
I've started her on Solid Gold which she seems to like. Hmm...that would be another topic.
Auntie P - not if you take Chaos for the day & I can enjoy peace & quiet with Jackie! Haha
