Waiting for adopter

Jackie's adoption post has been up on CWS's website since late-last week, but no adoption enquiries have come in yet. Yesterday, I saw a new adoption post that I suspect to have copied one sentence from my adoption post on Jackie. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Oh well. ;P

Other than being an "untouchable" with uncle S, Jackie is easy to care for. Although she will sometimes follow me around like a dog, being an independent mature cat, she doesn't need my attention all the time, and quickly learns when I sounded unhappy or when certain things are out of bounds to her, such as jumping onto a high shelf and knocking down the telephone.

Initially, Jackie would hide under our bed, the sofa or in the study room whenever uncle S is at home. After some painstaking efforts to "force" her to come out of hiding, including closing the door to our bedroom (which she doesn't like), and shifting furniture to cover up the nooks and crannies, she has now taken to lounging around in some corners of the hall and kitchen.

At other times, Jackie will entertain herself by playing ball and other toys, running about, or playing with uncle S' shoelaces, our shoes and floor mats. At least she's not hiding anymore. Even when she's hiding, she does come to me most of the time when I call out to her.

I wonder how to make her less wary of uncle S? Jackie's unfriendliness to uncle S is kind of discouraging to him. San gave me a suggestion at her blog. I'll see if I can get uncle S to try it.

Food is still the surest way to win a cat's trust.
Let Uncle S give her the most irrestible food!

Be patient. With love & food, she will be won over eventually.
