When the beans are eating on the sofa, meow loudly to demand a share of the action.
Even if one is not interested in eating it, one must have a smell inspection before the bean can eat the food in peace.
Do the same for every new item that the bean brings into the house.
Be sure to be kaypoh and test them out by sitting on them.
Coco : Hmm...this free bag from Kose is nice to sit on.
Next, when mommy is taking a nap, choose to snooze next to her instead of in the cat bed.
After a while, stretch out your body to "chope" much of her bed space (sometimes poke your paws onto her), so that she will wake up and hopefully, give me some cat treats!
Finally, my current favourite activity - sit or stand next to the door and cry out non-stop:
"I want to go out, I want to go out!"
Sometimes mommy will let me out, but sometimes not.
Oh well, you win some and you lose some!

Dear auntie P, I think Coco is ding it so that you don't get poisoned by funny foods or being attacked by monsters from alien handbags.
And she likes to be near you, to protect you.
Spencer used to be a custom inspector too, when she was younger. Now she has finally convinced herself that there is nothing interesting at all.
As for the going out part, Spencer is still doing it. I think it is a cat thing.
Maybe you have to get some netting to place on the gate.
Oh, Spencer's been there and done that, Cat aunty.
