Dear San, this is the bowl that I used for Jackie. :)
My criteria for a good cat bowl that allows cats to feed efficiently, especially for eating wet food:
- the rim must be wide enough for an adult cat to lick up the wet food without touching its face, and yet not be too big,
- has smooth surface with no joint/gap at the base which may impede the movement of wet food into the cat's mouth, or result in trapped bits of leftovers,
- does not discolour or get stained with smell and is microwaveable.
I went hunting around for one that's not too expensive, and finally got this procelain bowl.

Oh I saw this bowl at the shop in Elias Mall. It was very pretty. It also comes with porcelain spoons. I bought 12 porcelain spoons myself. Then I bought some more that were green with red outlines flowers. :)) I do not know what I want to do with so many spoons but I thought I would get them anyway :)
I bought the boys new bowls at the sale. They seem to like it and they're shallow so their faces don't get near the rim. My mother is sterilising their other bowls so she can use them for soup. I do not know if that is a good idea though.
Haha, San, you are really into spoons! The porcelain spoons are really good for drinking hot soup - can give a big spoonful and the porcelain won't scald the lips. I love most porcelain cutlery and have to control myself from collecting, esp. when I see the selection at Takashimaya. :P
I saw your new cat bowls...very lovely, and glad your cats find them intriging. Your "old" cat bowls are lovely and look expensive, it would be a waste not to use them.
Auntie Pat - I realize your post was from quite a while ago, but I was hoping you'd be able to tell me where you bought your cat bowls from (or perhaps the brand name)? They're so beautiful! Thanks!
Hi Anonymous, if you're referring to the bowl in that photo, it's available from market shops or department stores. I got mine from Sheng Siong Supermarket (in Singapore) and it cost about S$1 or so. There's no brand to it though.
