Heheh! We watched The Lake House over the weekend, and then I saw the movie-themed blog skin today, so it seems quite apt for the current mood. We hadn't been to the movies much since weekend movie ticket prices went up and VCD prices came down.
The movie, though romantic, was not mushy and was quite enjoyable, as long as one doesn't question the time-warp thing (does anyone watch Superman or X-men and question if anyone can fly?). After the movie, the SO and I kept popping up questions about the different time dimensions and the effects on the protagonists, what could have been and what could not be changed. Of course, any fans of Keanu Reeves should not miss it - he's still very yan dao ('handsome' in Hokkien) despite his advancing years, and there's good chemistry with the lovely Sandra Bullock.

This blogskin is really sharp! I love the colors and the way it is organized. Are you planning on keeping it?
Also, my human pet is a huge fan of Keanu Reeves, but she has been unable to convinced anyone to go with her to see The Lakehouse. Apparently, the story has been made fun of so much here in the states through various media that no one wished to see it.
Dear Zeus, thank you! Think I'll keep this blogskin for a while.
Hmm...I don't supposed your human pet can take you to the movie? ;)
It's just too bad if the folks decide to skip the movie because others made fun of it. If one insists on the implausibility of the time-warp thing or choose to make fun of the mailbox, then they're probably going to hate the movie. Actually, the 2 characters (and their slightly troubled, lonely personas) helped make things believeable, bec they too were skeptical initially. It's a romantic story with a refreshing twist, and there were magical moments in the story-telling, like how 2 persons experienced exactly the same thing of beauty, but at different time frames.
