Where is the logic?

I saw a discussion about abuse of cats on a forum, and I just wonder where and what has gone wrong in some people's mind.

In short, the discussion went on like this:

Mr A complained that he hates the stray cat(s) that run into his house to steal bread that was left lying on his kitchen table.

Ms B (who has or had a nice cat before) being helpful, suggested to A that perhaps A should call the SPCA to handle the problem.

A bystander Ms C, informed Ms B that in case she doesn't know, her suggestion of calling the SPCA means that B is sending the stray cat(s) to be killed.

Now, this is the part that I do not understand.

(1) In her reply, B said that she knows that cats rounded up by SPCA would be killed, and that her previous suggestion to SPCA to create an off-shore protection area was not taken up. Other that that, B did not show any sign of regret for having suggested calling the SPCA.

(2) Another bystander, Mr D thinks that it's better that the cats are being sent to the SPCA, his reason being "at least they die with dignity" than if they were neglected by a bad owner, like what he'd seen on some Discovery channel show.

So, if you're reading this, what do you think? I was going like: "HUH???", and was flabbergasted, to say the least.

How could people who like cats ever come up with a suggestion to round up cats so that they could be killed?

And what dignity for the murdered cat is there to speak of, just because it is powerless against humans who think they rule over the world and other creatures?

Is it just me, or what is wrong with these people? Are they actually aliens, I wonder?

*Sad*

In other words - human centredness. People are spared from knowing the suffering of animals - only because they don't see it themselves.
