What can one do for a cat that doesn't like to be held, is very sensitive to even tiny drops of medicine being applied to its body, and yet badly needs to be treated for its itchy skin?
Jon Jon keeps scratching herself (sometimes I get confused about her/his gender) every two or three steps she takes. I think the itch troubles her so much that she's not able to eat properly. She's lost quite a bit of weight, and I wonder if I dare to try another round of Frontline on her.
In the past, I had been warned by Ms A of the difficulty of applying the liquid treatment on her as she would jump and run away once she sensed the slightest drop of the medicine. Nevertheless, the SO and I did treat her twice (with the medication given by Ms A), but not after lots of struggling and a few scratches from her. After all that trauma, Jon Jon ran away whenever she saw the both of us!
She's forgotten about those bad memories and sometimes purrs quite contentedly when I stroked her. A few days ago, I tried to "test water" and held her gently with both hands. Immediately, she jumped away and refused to be held. We can definitely forget about bathing her.
I'm still pondering how best to treat her. Any ideas?

Wah your cat blog is looking very professional :) sorry I can't give any help for the cat trouble. Screaming Banshee (the black cat in my carpark) seems to have the same trouble but she has since allowed me to put some frontline on her.

Thanks for your comment but the 2nd column has gone mis-aligned on its own, somehow.
Might need to bring to the vet for application of anti-mite and anti-lice medication like Revolution. I have applied this on community cats with itch and moth-eaten hair loss appearance and it works after a week or so. You can get it cheap from Ph.
Hmmm vegancat, what is Ph? I think I need some for Screaming Banshee now that she has allowed me to clean her up and actually put the Frontline. I think I should strike while the iron is hot as they say.

I'd also thought that Ph means pharmacy...but then pharmacy don't sell pet medication, do they? ;)
I think some pet shops also carry Revolution, and Frontline too.
Me thought Ph was Phillipines!!
