I thought this cat (below) is pretty, so took my camera out (again) to take a photo, and only realised much later that she might be Yoga.

This cat (Kelly-Sar) understands mommy's command in Cantonese to go sit on her lap!


This guy (Pai-Kuat-Chai aka 排骨仔) was sleeping in that manner until he got wakened up by the papparazzi. :)

Lovely afternoon

Instead of having tea with L, my new friend whom I met through Shiny, we went to visit our common friend, Phyllis. To me, Phyllis is a very special woman. I will always marvel at her love and dedication to saving and helping animals. :)

We met Cleo and Simba, two lovely kittens rescued by Chinky (another special person) that are up for adoption.

My favourite Garfield

I've had a few Garfields in my life so far, including one which a very sweet temp staff had given to me as a farewell present when I left one workplace. That one left a mark on me because he's just a young temp staff with no regular income and yet he bought me such a large stuffed Garfield toy which had this motto pasted in front: "Overworked and Underpaid"! That about said it all re my employment there. :P

I kept that stuffed Garfield toy for more than 10 years and might have had it removed this year during spring cleaning as it was collecting too much dust. Anyhow, this is currently my favourite Garfield --> Gym-Garfield!! Yayy!!

Gym-Garfield is now staying at Chinky's home as a guest, and is still up for adoption. He gets along well with the other resident cats. Chinky has kindly granted me permission to post his photos here. :)

Gym-Garfield is a ginger cat, a boy cat and such a sweet darling... *Sigh...* all the qualities of my dream cat. I have blackmailed Coco that she had better behave, or I'll threaten to swop her for Gym-Garfield if she gets too bratty for her own good! Haha!

Mimi gets her 15 minutes of fame

It was Andy Warhol who, in 1968, had said that: "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes".

Well, the time has come for Mimi to get her 15 minutes (or longer) of fame. Sharing the limelight with Mimi is Alex (Aunty G's foster), who also appears in my cat-adoption.blogspot.com blog.

It appears that both cats have been discovered and are now appearing as the new celebrity "Kitlers" on Cats that look like Hitler.

Let's hope the extra publicity will help both cats (and Ginger, another foster cat) get adopted this year. That will be my ultimate wish for the year. :)

BT & Gym-Garfield

Recently, I fell in love with two very lovely community cats. One of them is BT.

BT stands for brown tabby, a big cat with a long body, which appeared in the far vicinity recently. His very manja and docile character towards humans means that he is likely to be an abandoned cat.





I hardly know him, yet he did this to me when I first saw him.

Gym-Garfield (from Chinky's adoption blog) is a super cute ginger cat and is up for adoption. You can read about him here.

Mimi's update

I couldn't find Mimi yesterday; she was not sleeping in the bike basket as usual.

I wonder where she's gone to? Now that she's bigger and got used to the place, she's exploring more of the surrounding, including the next block(s), and is no longer afraid of people. In fact, she's rather curious and kay poh about them.

Mimi has become friends with Kiddy and loves to charge at him in play. I've seen families stopping in their tracks (on their way home) to look at them play, with smiles on their faces. My wish is that one of these families would decide to take Mimi home and provide a loving home for her. She is a lovely kitty.

Ronnie gets adopted

The happy news is that Ronnie boy went to his permanent home yesterday. Hope things work out well for Ronnie (as well as for aunty G), as there are 2 residents cats in the new home.

If everything goes as planned, little Ronnie will be going home on a trial adoption this weekend, according to aunty G. Ronnie's a loveable boy, and is very playful at 4 months young.



I hope that sweetie Alex and handsome Ginger will also have the same good luck in finding their permanent homes soon.

Besides Ronnie, these two foster cats from Aunty G's brood are also up for adoption. Both cats are sterilised.

Alex, 6 month old male kitten

Looks like :
A black & white tuxedo kitten with a white chest, white "socks", a stubby tail and an innocent-looking face which is said to resemble a dog(!?!).

Characteristics :
Allows himself to be carried without complaining, sterilised, litterbox-trained and gets along with other cats.





Name : Ginger, male, estimated to be 11 months old

Looks like : A handsome ticked tabby with a light-brown coat and a very long straight tail.

Characteristics : Loves to clamour up to aunty G and other family members to sayang (love) them; well-behaved, gets along with other cats and litterbox-trained. Initially shy with strangers, but will be affectionate and loving when he gets to know you.


It's funny lah, this Ginger is not a ginger cat at all, but a sleek and handsome tabby...he reminds me of the majestic cougar. :)

English not enough

It was good that someone showed interest in Ronnie, so I asked Aunty G (Ronnie's foster mom) to call him up to arrange for a viewing. Aunty G dutifully followed-up, and potential adopter came to view Ronnie. Ronnie was his usual sociable self and came up to meet the visitor sweetly.

According to aunty G's update, although he seemed to like Ronnie's looks and character, potential adopter "complained" that Ronnie is too big and that he wanted a 2-month old kitten, so the adoption did not go through, but that's ok. From this episode, I can only infer that something must be wrong with this person's English if he can't differentiate between "4-month old" and "2-month old". The side story is that this person used to have 3 cats, but one of his cats fell down to his death from his 6th storey apartment, so he is now looking to adopt another cat.

Name: Ronnie

Age: 4-month old (est'd)

Coat colour: Cream with ginger markings (quite unique!), with a long, straight tail.

Characteristics: Very sweet & affectionate purrsonality, loves to be sayang-ed by humans, gets along with other cats and litter box-trained.




Ronnie was dumped outside Aunty G's home when he was just a few weeks' old. Hearing his frantic cries in the wee hours of the morning, aunty G took Ronnie in and has been caring for him since. Aunty G is currently facing both health and financial problems, so she's decided to rehome Ronnie and another "Panda" b/w cat.

During a home visit, aunty G was rushing out to feed the community cats, so I only had time to take a couple of Ronnie's photos. "Panda" kitten will have to wait.
